Bamboo Handle Handbag

Found a sample sale of upholstery fabrics for $1 each and combined it with Mom's quilting fabric stash along with a freebie Ultra Suede sample. Embroidered a fleur-de-lis outline on the Ultra Suede for an easy-no-turned-edges inside pocket.

More wallets!

Wallets for days!

Some of cotton broadcloth - easy.

Some of upholstery sample remnants - not so easy.

Idea: add grommet or eyelet for earbud wire and tuck an Ipod in that wallet!

Freebie tote bag makeover

Hey, ya know those freebie canvas tote bags from vendors with screen printed advertisements? I love them but don't love the tacky graphics so covered the logo with this fabric remnant.

  • Upholstery fabric sample

  • Stencil

  • Embroidery

Zigzagged the edge of fabric and sewed it to the canvas bag.

Attempted to border it with rickrack. Three times. No rickrack. Any tips for the future?
