Look at these cute labels I ordered from Jennifer's Jewels on etsy.com! Jennifer offers lots of cute designs but of course, I wanted something different. I requested 2 fonts to represent the Skitzo Leezra personality and she took it from there.

Naughty word flip book

My swap partner indicated that her favorite naughty words were combinations. So, with help of brother, sister and Kay, we compiled a list of naughty, nasty, gross and funny words.

Grabbed a small scrap book, cut each page into 3 sections and wrote adjective in top space, adjective in middle space and noun at the lower. Not sure how many combinations can be made but I am going to guess - LOTS!

Naughty word swap OR look at my box

Every once in awhile I think myself to be clever, as in, cutting fabric on the bias and making my own patterns. Then, sure as shit, I prove myself to be a dummy. Embroidered three, count 'em, three collapsible fabric storage boxes (tutorial here) and when I began sewing, I realized my mistake of embroidering UPSIDE DOWN!

Lots of naughty words uttered/screamed at that point. Frustrated, I just put them aside. A few days later, they seemed kinda funny, especially when you consider the theme of the swap. (Mom thought the boxes would make for amusing hats.)

Finished the boxes with handles on the opposite side so my swap partner could have the option of displaying words or not.

So, recently signed up for a swap on www.craftster.org What's a swap? Folks sign up to craft stuff for a partner and then they trade. Themes range from owls to Golden Girls to the one I signed for - Naughty Words Need Love Too. Now you know why I could not resist. Participants were asked to specify their favorite naughty words.


My partner asked for embroidered tea towels so I stitched words that sound nasty on one side and an innocuous image of birds and airplanes on the other. Private side and preacher side, y'know.

Drawstring skirt, cut on the bias

Found this cute fabric at JoAnn's Fabric and decided it would look even cuter if I cut the pattern on the bias, instead of the stripes being vertical. And believe it or not, it worked! The side seams matched so perfectly, I surprised myself. WooHoo!

AND, AND, I finally learned to hem! Dang it all, I am some excited. And no, I will not hem YOUR shit. Learn your own damn self.

Embroidery on pillowcases

Still working on embroidery stuff. Stitched the "L" with split stitch, I think it is my favorite stitch. The "T" is satin and backstitch. Satin stitch is not the easiest to perfect and I would like to improve.

Silk stash yields handbags

The silk stash makes the prettiest handbags. Employed vintage buttons and hair tie elastics for closure.

80's style country cross stitch strikes back!

Diggin' through my cross stitch crap and found this jar topper with blue ruffle. Oh fuh Gawd. Back in the day, country decor crazed folks would have loved to see a stitched cow or some such barnyard critter. Um, no. Instead I attempted to jazz it up with blue beads and taught myself a little hide-the-thread inside the ruffle trick. Those blue beads are from Dori's installation"people give me stuff" stash.

How many is too much?

Heck, I don't even carry tissues but here is a whole mess of 'em! Just one more dang thing that employs small scraps of fabric. Thanks, http://www.crafster.org/. If you are my friend, you will probably be offered a tissue cozy. I apologize in advance.

cut 4 pieces of fabric 4" X 6"

fold 2 pieces lengthwise, press with hot iron to set crease

stack remaining 2 pieces, wrong sides together

place the 2 folded pieces on top, with folded edges just touching

align all the edges

sew all the way around, using 3/8" seam allowance

trim edges

turn inside out

serger works okay but does not provide the crispest corners

NOTE: the middle fabric becomes the bottom outside

Box of treasure/junque

People give me stuff!

Kay knows I love me some boxes of sewing notions and junque! Looka! Vintage paper dolls, buttons galore, a Singer sewing machine replacement belt, keys - caw, caw, shiny stuff!

If your mom or grandmother has a drawer full of unused sewing stuff, give it to me! I will glady employ it on a future project. Mind you, it sometimes takes a while but it eventually I will find the perfect use the trinkets and trash.

My friend Mallys had the misfortune of having a dental procedure instead of a nice birthday so I made this greeting card for her.

Leather wrist cuff

Bought a bag of assorted leather stuff at Hobby Lobby and finally made something - a wrist cuff. The centered glass "rock" has graphic image underneath with micro-beads around border with button and ribbon loop closure.

Patchwork belts ~OR~ Don't throw that away!

Hey, remember when I bragged that I was able to toss small fabric scraps? Well, dammit all, no more! Nope, now those scraps make up fabulous patchwork belts, pattern courtesy of creative little daisy's craftsite.

These belts are constructed of silk fabric scraps from the amazing Eileen silk fabric stash.

Fair warning: I found myself a few squares shy of desired finished length. The next thing I knew, I had enough squares to complete FOUR belts.

Silk tank for Eileen

Eileen, my fairy godmother of the silk fabric stash, gets the fabulous ribbon tank top. It is from the same pattern as Kay's tank but with vertical stripes.

Wanna know how to cut a pattern so that you can use it for any size? As in, Kay is one size, Eileen was the next size down. Don't cut the pattern to size. Instead, make cuts into pattern and fold back. Use the temporary adhesive. You now have a pattern with all sizes intact.
